The Romanian Journal of International Law (RJIL or RRDI – the acronym in Romanian) was re-founded in 2003 under the aegis of the Romanian Branch of the International Law Association (ILA) / the Section of International Law of the Association of International Law and International Relations (ADIRI) of Romania, with the objective of being an independent forum for debate and publication of scientific papers on international law. After an initial pilot number published by RA Official Gazette Publishing House in 2003, RRDI was published biannually by the CH Beck Publishing House between 2006 and 2012. Starting with 2017, RRDI is published on-line by the Romanian Branch of the International Law Association (ILA).
The Association of International Law and International Relations (ADIRI) of Romania was founded in 1966 and is a public utility association. ADIRI provides qualified expertise in international relations and international law, as well as in European affairs. As a forum for scientific debate, it organizes seminars, conferences and elaborates studies and opinions upon request or at its own initiative.
The Journal has grown over time, becoming today a recognized publication, with strong academic significance in Romania and abroad, where it can be found in the most prestigious university libraries, as well as in the libraries of The Hague Academy of International Law and of the International Court of Justice.
Starting with issue no. 16, RRDI became a journal available entirely in electronic format so that the free dissemination of its scientific content is able to reach all those interested in international law.
